Registration
Pre-registration for February 24th is now closed. Onsite registration will be availble the day of the conference for $25 additional fee.
Registration includes attendance at conference worth 6.5 CME/CEU hours (see detailed accreditation information below), continental breakfast, lunch, and a CD with lecture handouts. Registration will close at 5pm the Wednesday before each conference or when space is filled, whichever comes first. On-site registrations will be allowed only if space is available, are not guaranteed, and will be assessed an additional $25 processing fee.

Accreditation
Acupuncturists: This program is worth 6.75 continuing education hours. Acupuncturists should review NCCAOM guidelines for CE hours.
Chiropractic Physicians: This program meets the Oregon State Board of Chiropractic Examiners requirements for 6.75 continuing education hours.
Clinical Social Workers: The Pain Society of Oregon is an approved provider by Oregon State Board of Clinical Social Workers. This program is approved for 6.75 continuing education hours.
Medical Physicians: This activity has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 6.75 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed credit, not as Category 1.
Nurses: This program meets the Oregon State Board of Nursing’s requirements for 6.75 pain management continuing education hours.
Physical Therapists: This program meets the Oregon State Board of Physical Therapists requirements for 6.75 pain management continuing education hours.
Occupational Therapists: This program meets the Oregon State Occupational Therapist Licensing Boards requirements for 6.75 pain management continuing education hours.
Learning Objectives
Learning Objectives vary slightly from conference to conference
- Discuss the impact and prevalence of chronic musculoskeletal pain.
- Discuss the current evidence regarding utilization and efficacy of common treatments for musculoskeletal pain.
- Define secondary prevention.
- Review evidence regarding the risk factors for developing a chronic pain.
- Discuss tools and intervention strategies to identify and treat patients who are at high risk for developing chronic musculoskeletal pain.
- Identify barriers to appropriate pain management
- Identify components of a comprehensive multi-dimensional pain assessment
- Describe the difference between addiction, physical dependence, tolerance and pseudoaddiction
Handouts
In an effort to be environmentally conscious our conferences are primarily paperless. At the conference you will receive a CD with handouts. Individual handouts will not be printed for the conference. If you have registered for the conference and would like a printed copy of handouts please contact (541) 345-7300.
- The Pain Society of Oregon (PSO) and Life's Work Physical Therapy reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable.
- If the PSO and Life's Work Physical Therapy cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund.
- Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to the same event at the new, future date.
- The deadline to receive a full refund for your registration is 10 business days before the event.
- Registration cancellations received prior to the deadline may be eligible to receive a refund less a $35 service fee.
- Cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund.
- Refunds will not be available for registrants who choose not to attend, or are unable to attend, an event.
- Cancellations will be accepted via phone or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline.
- All refund requests must be made by the attendee.
- Refund requests must include the name of the attendee.
