Description of Practice:
I am presently in full-time private practice after many years as clinical supervisor on the Providence St. Vincent Adult Psychiatry Unit.  My initial training and professional interest had been working with the mores seriously disturbed patients in a hospital setting, which would include psychological diagnostic assessment and psychotherapy.

My interest in medical psychology has continued to grow and I have become more specialized in treating patients with medical problems that have associated psychological or psychiatric conditions.  Working with patients that have chronic pain has become a major portion of my practice and I work closely with a number of pain clinics.

I have become familiar with a diversity of pain conditions and associated mental health problems including chemical dependency complications.  I work with older adolescents and adults.  I am comfortable utilizing all the major psychotherapies in addition to more specific pain management strategies, including hypnotherapy, in order to best address patients’ needs given their resources.

I provide evaluations, consultations and individual and couple’s therapy.  I also provide psychological evaluations to screen for the applicability of surgical implantation of pain control devices such as spinal cord stimulators and pain pumps.
