Description of Practice:
My chiropractic philosophy is to prevent and treat musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and promote healthy lifestyles using a broad range of active care options. I emphasize a structural and functional approach to MSDs, applying biomechanics principles to the evaluation of soft tissue trauma that occurs in response to overuse and overexertion resulting in imbalances in strength, flexibility, and muscle tone. These changes may lead to cumulative (micro) trauma and ultimately acute and chronic pain and injury. I evaluate the root causes, such as workplace and home ergonomics, past injuries, fitness level, and musculoskeletal deconditioning.

I have 20 years of clinical experience specializing in the treatment and prevention of MSDs in aging and working populations, and I especially enjoy working with construction workers, fire/EMS workers, health care workers and office workers. I have expertise in ergonomics and incorporate ergonomic assessments into treatment plans. Patient care is multifaceted incorporating chiropractic manipulation, trigger point work, Graston myofascial technique, tailored exercise programs, and ergonomic interventions to rehabilitate and prevent injury. I am proficient in Diversified and Thompson Chiropractic Adjusting Techniques and incorporate elements of Activator and SOT. I believe in an integrative approach to health and I frequently refer patients for acupuncture, massage therapy, counseling, spiritual guidance, medical or naturopathic consultations, physical therapy, and yoga.

I currently share an office space on Oak St. with a physical therapist, a nutritionist, and several massage therapists to provide integrative care.
