Description of Practice:
Pain is a serious condition that can require medical and surgical therapy. Although this seems an obvious statement, it does not represent a universally held view.
I attempt to take the complaint of pain as seriously as each patient does. Each patient is unique both in the cause of pain, the factors that maintain the pain and the response to therapy for pain. I evaluate patients using the tools of neuro-imaging and precision x-ray guided selective injections. Once a diagnosis is established, appropriate self-care is encouraged often including the techniques of physical therapy, psychology, acupuncture, chiropractic and alternative care practitioners. If pain persists and no definitive therapy is available, spinal stimulation and spinal infusion therapy can be tried to determine if they can provide relief for patients with certain pain syndromes.
This medical interventional approach is one perspective on the management of complex pain that can result in significant pain reduction for certain patients.
