Description of Practice:
I have a general adult practice. My approach is twofold: I pay attention to
immediate concerns and self-care. I often use breathing meditation and
mindfulness techniques and relaxation. I help (re) connect to personal strength
and resources. We also find out what are the issues, attitudes, and feelings
that interfere with making the desired changes and improving well-being.
When I work with clients with (chronic) pain, I am interested in helping acquire
coping skills, broaden the use of interdisciplinary treatment, and come to a
meaningful resolution of the negative effect of pain while seeking to live
congruently with oneself. I often use dreams to understand unconscious and
interpersonal dynamics.
With couples, I act as a coach and guide to a mature dependence and deeper
intimacy. I help identify the skills that protect relationships, allow for individual
differences, and work through the difficult times.
Clients must be ambulatory.
