Description of practice:
I combine the styles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese, and 5 Element Acupuncture in treating clients as each style excels at treating different sorts of pain.
TCM is wonderful for acute trauma. Japanese is also very helpful for acute trauma or long-term pain symptoms. Japanese diagnosis is through abdominal palpation and pulse and so it can be used when conversation isn't easy - for instance, with foreigners, or teen-agers with a reluctance to talk, or those with any inability to describe themselves or their pain.
5 Element acupuncture excels at treating pain that is connected to or caused by emotions. Most Americans fall into this category: high stress lives often create pain, or keep a painful injury or area from healing. 5 Element acupuncture can heal the frayed nerves and emotions that stain the mind-set and deep muscle groups tense, allowing the body tissue and the mind to release trauma and heal.
